Michael Shelton

Technology

Michael Shelton is Head of Architecture and Engineering for the Kubernetes Platform team at JPMorgan Chase, where he leads infrastructure spanning a 1.3-million-container on-premise platform and more than 3,000 single-tenant EKS clusters. His career has progressed from application development with .NET and SQL Server through Java, Oracle, React, Cloud Foundry, and modern Kubernetes architecture. He also designed and built the infrastructure for BoxOfChocolates.ai’s data center, providing the organization with a self-hosted foundation for running open-source AI systems at scale. He brings deep technical judgment and practical experience in security, resilience, regulated systems, and large-scale technology operations, helping ensure that BoxOfChocolates.ai can pursue its mission on a dependable and responsible technical foundation.

Dylan Einhorn

Digital Strategy

Dylan Einhorn is a technology leader and web development specialist who serves as CTO of an industry-leading golf travel platform. He has extensive experience designing, building, launching, and operating production web platforms, with expertise spanning full-stack development, software architecture, digital marketing, business operations, and customer engagement. Throughout his career, he has worked at the intersection of technology and execution, translating complex ideas into digital products that serve real users. He is particularly interested in how AI is changing the way products are conceived, built, and experienced, as well as its broader impact on society. He brings the organization a practical understanding of product development, user needs, accessibility, and sustained adoption over time.

Shana Einhorn

Legal and Advocacy

Shana Einhorn is a Texas attorney and prosecutor whose career spans criminal law, family law, public service, and animal protection. A graduate of the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University, she has practiced law in Texas since 2008. She is widely recognized within Texas animal-welfare and advocacy circles for her commitment to addressing animal cruelty and protecting those unable to advocate for themselves. Her experience combines legal analysis with the practical realities of enforcement, public accountability, and community impact. She brings the organization a valuable perspective on governance, risk, responsibility, and ethical decision-making, helping ensure that its work remains legally sound and attentive to vulnerable people, animals, and communities.

Brice Ammar-Khodja

Ethics and Impact

Brice Ammar-Khodja is an Assistant Professor at the School of Architecture and Design at IE University in Madrid, as well as a researcher and designer. He holds a doctorate in Design from École des Arts Décoratifs–Université Paris Sciences et Lettres and a doctorate in Visual Arts from Concordia University in Montreal. His research examines environmental pollution, materiality, sensory design, public participation, and the ways design can influence civic awareness and engagement. More recently, his work has explored regenerative biomaterials and their potential to support environmental remediation and public understanding. He brings the organization a critical perspective shaped by aesthetics, ethics, and environmental responsibility, helping ensure that its technologies remain attentive to human experience, ecological consequences, and civic life.

BoxOfChocolates.ai runs on a home-built data center designed to support open-source AI efficiently. We monitor energy reported by its compute systems and estimate the associated carbon emissions using near-live data from the electricity grid that powers the data center.

It would take BoxOfChocolates.ai around 13.6 years to use the same amount of electricity that an average data center consumes in just one day. (Based on the International Energy Agency’s baseline of 5 Megawatts for a standard data center).

Measurements reflect the power drawn directly by the computing hardware; cooling, networking, and power losses are excluded. Estimated emissions are calculated using near-live regional carbon intensity from Electricity Maps. Measurements are published every three minutes and checked every minute, which may add a short caching delay.
