# GuardDog

Helping shelters and rescues review public-record evidence with care.

Decision-support development · Internal preview

GuardDog is a BoxOfChocolates.ai initiative developing human-reviewed
screening support for verified animal shelters and rescues. It aims to
make relevant public-record information easier to find and examine,
while keeping identity uncertainty and source limitations visible.

Purpose

## Evidence for a careful human review.

Animal-welfare teams need context when reviewing an adoption
application. Relevant court records can require careful reading, and
similar names can refer to different people.

Our focus is to organize source-backed information so a reviewer can
inspect the original record, compare identifying details, and
understand what remains uncertain.

### Who the program is for

Verified animal shelters and rescues, with human reviewers
responsible for their organization’s policies and decisions.

### Where the work stands

GuardDog is under development with an internal preview. The pictured
interface is a Bell County, Texas court-record workflow; it does not
establish statewide coverage or general public availability.

Program activities

## From a source record to an informed review.

1. **Find relevant public-record evidence**Develop tools
that help reviewers locate potentially relevant records and retain
the context needed to check their source.
2. **Keep identity uncertainty visible**A matching name is
a lead for review. It does not establish that a record concerns an
   applicant.
3. **Show gaps and limits**Incomplete coverage,
unavailable records, and unresolved details must remain visible. An
incomplete search cannot support a clean conclusion.
4. **Leave decisions with people**Reviewers examine source
records and apply their own policies. GuardDog does not assign an
automatic adoption decision or suitability score.

A closer look

## Clear context, on a smaller screen.

The mobile view keeps the name-search guidance, optional birth-date
comparison, and review limitations in the same workflow.

These screenshots show the actual development interface with empty
fields. No live court search was submitted to produce them.

## Program boundaries

GuardDog supports human review. It is not a blacklist, a consumer
background-check service, or an automatic adoption-decision engine.
A charge does not establish guilt, and a name match does not
establish identity.

BoxOfChocolates.ai’s public website describes this work; it does not
accept applicant information or run GuardDog searches.
